The Goal of ABA
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is one of the most widely researched and successful interventions for children with autism. It focuses on understanding behavior and how it is influenced by the environment. The ultimate goal isn’t control—it is providing the child with the skills they need to be successful and autonomous in their daily lives.
Breaking Down Complex Skills
ABA works by breaking down complex skills—like holding a spoon, initiating a conversation, or following a multi-step instruction—into small, manageable steps. By using positive reinforcement, we encourage the repetition of helpful behaviors while gradually reducing those that might interfere with the child’s learning or safety.
Therapeutic Insight
At ACFSS, our ABA sessions are highly individualized. We focus on "functional independence"—ensuring that what your child learns in our center can be used successfully at home, in the park, and in the community.
If you would like professional guidance for your child, our team is available for consultation at Autism Care Foundation Special School.
